Parents' Support Group (PSG) Session 1
Alhamdulillah, we have successfully launched out new initiative for this year, namely the Parents' Support Group! Some parents of our little hearts from primary 1 and 2 had gathered at Masjid An-Nahdhah last Sunday, 25th May 2014, to discuss their contributions in nurturing our students' development in Madrasah.
Parents felt that the session was very fruitful as they shared their experiences and views in helping children with quran reading at home. Various strategies were discussed on how students could be nurtured in a way to take initiatives in reading quran at home independently.
Our parents of PSG have also embarked on their first project - organising a games day for our little hearts of As-Soabereen. To kickstart this project, our parents played a few games that strengthened their bonds amongst them.
Insha Allah, may Allah (swt) bless our parents and guide them as they work with our ustazahs in this new initiative. Ameen.

Tharannum Competition 2014
Tharannum Competition 2014
Our Madrasah As-Soabereen Girls Team organized a Quran Tharannum and Thahfeez Competition on the 19th April 2014, Saturday, at Masjid An-Nahdhah from 2.00pm to 6.30pm. 24 students took part in the Tharannum competition and 8 students took part in the Thahfeez Competition. Aiming to develop the Quran reading of our students from both Yishun and Bishan Madrasahs, students of various age groups took part in this competition, showcasing their talents in reading and memorizing Al-Quran in their own styles with perfection.
Students who took part in the Tharannum competition were groups under five categories, namely, Beginner A, Beginner B, Intermediate A, Intermediate B and Advanced category. Students were judged based on their presentation, punctuation, pitching, and tuning. Students who read Al-Quran with much perfection and clarity took home with them trophies that signified their hard work put in practicing for several months.
About 100 parents and friends of the competitors also came down to support our students in this occasion. We would like to congratulate all students who clinched prizes during the competition and wish them all the best in their future endeavours!
Ridha Luckman, from Primary 2 Girls, took part in the Tharannum competition under the Intermediate A category and clinched the 3rd place! Alhamdulillah. We look forward to moulding more students in the upcoming competitions in near future!
We would like to thank all parents, supporters and sponsors who contributed to the success of this event.
